MOOSIC, Pa. – Gettysburg shot consecutive rounds of 336 to finish 12th at the Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational at the Glenmaura National Golf Course with a 672. Junior James LeClair (Plainfield, N.H./Kimball Union Academy) was the Bullets' top finisher in a 17th-place tie with a two-round score of 157. He followed up Sunday's 81 with a 76 on Monday.
Susquehanna took first place with a 16-over-par 584. The Crusaders shot a 291 in round one, followed by a 293. They out-shot second-place Franklin & Marshall by 25 strokes and placed four players among the top five. Pat Serfass took the individual title with a three-under 139. He won the tournament by six strokes over Brian Bergstol of Moravian.
Gettysburg freshmen
Ben Boss (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg),
Bradley Allen (Cumberland, Maine/Greely) and
Alex Stockdale (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) rounded out the Bullets' scoring quartet. Boss fired a 162, while Allen and Stockdale carded two-day totals of 166 and 187, respectively.
The Bullets will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Peach Bottom, Pa., for the 2007 Centennial Conference Men's Golf Championships at Pilgrim's Oak Golf Club. The first group will tee off at 8:30 a.m. on Friday. Saturday's round will begin and 10:30 a.m., and Sunday's final circuit will begin at 11:50 a.m.
