GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Junior right-hander
Mike Ciancio (Roseland, N.J./Newark Academy) pitched seven innings without allowing an earned run, and junior catcher Michael Donohue (Livingston, N.J./Livingston) was 3-for-5 with three RBI in Gettysburg's 10-3 victory against McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) action at Kirchhoff Field on Tuesday afternoon. Ciancio struck out four and walked one while giving up three unearned runs to improve to 4-1 on the season and lower his ERA to 1.38.
Gettysburg (15-3, 4-1 CC) pounded out 10 runs on 16 hits and used three McDaniel (5-12, 1-4 CC) errors to help overcome seven errors of their own. The Green Terror left 14 men on base in the contest.

The Green Terror was led by senior center fielder Tom Wenrich, who was 4-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored. Sophomore right fielder Zach Croft and sophomore second baseman Matt Teter each collected two hits.
The Bullets struck the big blow with six runs in the bottom of the fifth, after McDaniel had plated two in the top of the inning to take a 2-1 lead. Gettysburg strung together three straight one-out singles, including an RBI base knock by junior center fielder
Sean McGee (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) that drove in Backus. Following a walk to Carey that loaded the bases, Bonyai ripped a single through the right side to drive in two. Donohue then drove in two more with a ground-rule double down the left field line. An RBI groundout by senior right fielder
Chase Straub (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) closed down the scoring in an inning that saw Gettysburg send 10 men to the plate.
The Bullets had gotten the scoring started with a single run in the bottom of the third inning. Stabert led off with a perfectly placed bunt down the third base line. He went to third on the next play when McGee reached on a fielding error. He then scored when Carey grounded into a double play.
McDaniel jumped out in front in the top of the fifth with a pair of unearned runs. The Green Terror strung together four hits and was aided by a pair of Gettysburg errors. Wenrich drove in Teter, who led off with a bunt single. Sophomore shortstop Jon Zimmerman would also score when Troy Tipton reached on an error that would have ended the inning.

The Bullets will be back in action on Friday when they travel to Westminster, Md., to close out the season series with the Green Terror. The first pitch at Preston Field is slated for 3:30 p.m.
