Alexandra Ewing (Baltimore, Md./Garrison Forest) added a hat trick and an assist to lead No. 4 Gettysburg to a 13-8 win against No. 11 Trinity (Conn.) in NCAA regional semifinal action at Clark Field on Saturday afternoon. The Bullets advance to the regional final for the fifth straight year, where they will play host to No. 6 Hamilton, which defeated No. 15 Montclair State, 13-11, in the day's second semifinal to extend its winning streak to 16 straight.
Gettysburg (16-3), which has reached the 16-victory mark for the fifth year in a row, also got four points on a goal and three assists from junior midfielder
Katie Ceglarski (Darien, Conn./Darien). She also caused five turnovers and scooped up four of the Bullets' 30 ground balls. Junior attacker

Trinity (12-5) junior goalie Michelle Smith made 14 saves while enduring a 39-shot onslaught by the Bullets. The Bantams were held to just 20 shots. Sophomore midfielder Carrie Disa led the squad with three goals. Five other players struck once apiece.
Gettysburg kicked off a back-and-forth 20 minutes with an unassisted strike by junior attacker
Jamie Giffuni (St. James, N.Y./Smithtown) with just 2:26 gone. Trinity sophomore midfielder Alison Holmes evened it up just over five minutes later. Betts and Browning scored back-to-back to give the Bullets a lead it would never relinquish. The Bantams converted two free-position attempts in a four-and-a-half minute span, sandwiching Betts' second goal of the game, before Gettysburg was able to distance itself.
Starting with 4:59 to play before halftime, the Bullets netted three goals in a 1:27 span to take a 7-3 lead into the break. Ceglarski, Ewing and Hagan all scored, helping Gettysburg to what would eventually be an 8-0 run. Ewing scored twice in the first 3:09 of the second frame, including her fourth game winner of the season, which ties her for the team lead.
Browning scored on an assist from Ceglarski with 15:07 to play, giving the Bullets a 12-3 lead. Disa then exploded for three goals in the next 8:29, with a goal by senior defender Gabriele Geier among them to draw it within five at 12-7. The teams traded goals eight seconds apart to cap the scoring.
For the game, the Bantams converted all three free-position attempts, while holding Gettysburg scoreless on two chances.
In the day's second game, Hamilton (16-2) had three players with at least four points, led by senior attacker Suzy Belmont, who struck five times. Sophomore attacker Kaillie Briscoe and senior midfielder Liz Longley each scored two goals and added a pair of assists. Junior midfielder Nicole Tetreault also scored twice to go with an assist. Senior netminder Kalley Greer made 13 stops.
Montclair State (14-4) countered with four goals from senior attacker Ann Daily and two goals and four assists for six points by classmate Brianna Gillin. Senior defender Dina Morrone picked up a game-high eight ground balls and caused five turnovers.
Gillin and Daily each scored in the game's first five minutes to give the Red Hawks a 2-0 lead. It would be their largest advantage of the game. Belmont scored less than two minutes later and started a 3-0 Continentals' run. Montclair State tied the game at 3-3 and 4-4, but Belmont and Briscoe each struck within the last 4:03 of the first half to make it 6-4 at the break.
After Daily scored just 31 seconds into the second half, the teams traded three-goal runs, making it 9-8 Hamilton with 12:32 to play. The Continentals scored four of the next five goals over a 4:47 span to pull away down the stretch.
Hamilton will meet Gettysburg at 1 p.m. on Sunday with a trip to the NCAA semifinals in Geneva, N.Y., on the line. The Bullets will be looking to reach the round of four for the second straight year.
