Box Score

GETTYSBURG, Pa.  – Junior Emily Harwood (Rockville, Md./Magruder) scored two goals while senior Katherine Corkhill (Paoli, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame) broke Gettysburg's career goalie wins record as the Bullets shut out Haveford College 4-0 in Centennial Conference field hockey action Sunday afternoon at Shirk Field at Musselman Stadium.

With her win, Corkhill pushed her career record to 43-24. She surpassed Maureen Giese '01, who went 42-16 from 1998-2000.

Harwood gave Gettysburg (4-3, 1-1 CC) all the offense it would need when, with 15:01 left in the opening half, she took a long pass from senior Sarah Latta (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) and dribbled through the circle before punching in her fourth goal of the season. Junior Savannah Ruth (New Oxford, Pa./New Oxford) made it a 2-0 game at halftime after knocking in a shot on a scramble in front of the goal 6:06 before the break.

The Bullets pushed their advantage to 3-0 with 8:06 left. Taking a corner pass, senior Cristi Farrell (Broomall, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame) delivered the ball in front of the cage to Harwood, who drilled in her second goal of the game. Sophomore Molly Latta (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) set the final score by ripping in a shot just inside the circle with 3:51 to go. Sophomore Vanessa Pabon (New Oxford, Pa./New Oxford) got things started with a corner pass to Ruth, who flicked a cross to Latta on the left elbow.

Corkhill needed to make only one save to earn her first shutout of the season, as she extended her school record to 18. Sarah Graves made three saves for Haverford (3-5, 0-2 CC)

The Bullets out-shot the Fords 16-4 and held a 13-1 advantage in corners.

Gettysburg resumes its Centennial Conference schedule on Wednesday, when it hosts Franklin & Marshall College at 4:30 p.m.
