SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Sophomore Chris Bayon (Langhorne, Pa./Lawrenceville School (N.J.)) scored in the 47th minute to give the Gettysburg College men's soccer team a 1-0 Centennial Conference victory over host Swarthmore College Saturday evening.

Bayon drilled a shot into the near corner for his team-leading sixth goal of the season as the Bullets evened their overall (5-5) and Centennial Conference (2-2) records.

Making just his second start of the season, senior goalie Matt Langston (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) made three saves to earn his first shutout of the year and the third of his career.

Ryan Sutcliffe stopped three shots for Swarthmore (6-2-3, 1-2-1 CC), which lost for just the second time this season. The Bullets out-shot the Garnet 13-9.

Gettysburg takes a break from its Centennial Conference schedule on Wednesday, when it hosts the University of Scranton in a non-league contest starting at 7:30 p.m.
