GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Jennie Moore scored two goals and handed out one assist to lead fourth-ranked Ursinus College to a 4-0 victory over No. 15 Gettysburg in Centennial Conference field hockey action at a sunny, windy Shirk Field at Musselman Stadium Friday afternoon.

Ursinus (7-2, 5-0 CC), the four-time defending Centennial Conference champion, raced out to a 3-0 halftime lead. The Bears out-shot the Bullets 25-6 and held a 15-6 advantage in penalty corners.

Junior goalie Christina Anderson (Dunkirk, Md./The Calverton School) finished with a career-high 11 saves for Gettysburg (7-3, 2-2 CC) while senior Nikki Dyer (Kildeer, Ill./Stevenson) made three defensive saves. Erika Scott recorded all four of her saves in the second half to earn the shutout for Ursinus.

Katie Mastoris put the Bears on top with 20:22 left in the opening half, ripping a shot from just inside the circle following a penalty corner pass from Kait Sutherland. Moore then scored her first goal with 8:03 on the clock, taking a feed from Lindsay Dout and shooting against her body in the middle of the circle to make it a 2-0 game.

Moore gave Ursinus its three-goal halftime lead when, with 4:07 left, she punched in a rebound from the right side of the goal for her 16th tally of the season.

Jen Hooven completed the scoring with 7:36 left in the game, converting in front of the cage off an assist from Moore.

The Bullets threatened to score late in the game, taking three of their shots in the final one and a half minutes. But a pair of Scott saves and a defensive save by Taylor Weidensaul kept the shutout intact.

Gettysburg continues its three-game homestand on Tuesday, playing another ranked opponent when it takes on No. 14 Elizabethtown College in a non-conference outing starting at 4:30 p.m.
