Box Score

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Senior Jenn Amols (Fredericksburg, Va./James Monroe), senior Savannah Ruth (New Oxford, Pa./New Oxford), and junior Lexie Hearn (Old Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) scored two goals apiece and 17th-ranked Gettysburg celebrated Senior Day with a 6-1 Centennial Conference win over Muhlenberg in the regular season finale for both teams Saturday afternoon at sunny and warm Shirk Field at Musselman Stadium.

The Bullets (13-5, 8-2 CC), who entered the game having already clinched third place in the final conference standings, won their fifth game in a row and will now face the loser of tonight's game between No. 3 Ursinus and No. 10 Johns Hopkins in the Centennial Conference semifinals next Saturday. The winner of the Ursinus-Hopkins game will host the semifinals and finals.

All six of Gettysburg's seniors – Amols, Ruth, Emily Harwood (Rockville, Md./Magruder), Anne Ritter (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove), Nikki Dyer (Kildeer, Ill./Stevenson), and Jenny McIntyre (Glenmoore, Pa./Glenmoore) – were in the starting lineup. Amols needed just over three minutes to take advantage of her first collegiate start, scoring off an assist from Ruth. The Mules tied it up nearly four minutes later on a Chessie Martinez goal, but the Bullet defense dug in from there and limited Muhlenberg to just one more shot the rest of the way.

Hearn got into the act with 11:56 left in the half, scoring unassisted to make it a 2-1 game at the half. She picked up right where she left off in the second stanza, converting a cross from Harwood just 44 seconds in for her 13th goal of the year.

Ruth followed up just over six minutes later, scoring on a pass from junior Nina Emala (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr) to make it 4-1. Amols struck again with 11:49 left, with Harwood providing another assist, as she recorded her third collegiate multi-goal game. Ruth set the final tally when she drilled home her team-leading 14th goal of the season with 4:27 left.

The Bullets out-shot the Mules 27-2 and held a 14-2 edge in penalty corners. Michelle Consiglio stopped 13 shots for Muhlenberg while junior Christina Anderson (Dunkirk, Md./The Calverton School) made one save for Gettysburg.
