ARLINGTON, Va. – Marymount University connected on 10 three-pointers and out-scored visiting Gettysburg College 29-8 over a 12-minute period spanning the first and second halves to pull out a 68-52 victory in the championship game of the Marine Corps Tip-Off Tournament.

Caitlin Moser (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing) paced Gettysburg (2-1) with 16 points on the day en route to all-tournament accolades. She averaged 16.7 points and 6.7 rebounds on the weekend. Moser was joined on the all-tournament team by fellow sophomore
Mary Spicer (Floral Park, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) who posted a career-high eight rebounds against Marymount (3-0) to go with two points, two assists, and two steals.
Looking for its first opening-season tournament championship since 1999, Gettysburg took the lead initially on a bucket by freshman
Sara Kinsley (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe) and continued to hold sway seven minutes in with a 10-8 advantage following a lay-up by Spicer.
Marymount's first made field goal was a three-pointer and their second shot from deep gave them the lead for good 11-10 at 12:43 in the opening half. The Bullets didn't go away, however, bouncing back from a six-point deficit to slice the lead to one (27-26) on a three-pointer by freshman
Julie McGrory (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) just before the one-minute mark of the first period. Another Saint three-pointer sparked a 7-0 run to end the half, giving the hosts a 34-26 lead.
Moser scored the first bucket of the final stanza, by Marymount quickly built the advantage to double-figures with five points in less than a minute. The Saints kept the heat on by hitting seven of their first 14 shots of the period, including three three-pointers, to build their lead to an insurmountable 22 points (56-34) with just over 10 minutes to play. The advantage grew to as many as 25 points (61-36) and stood at 23 (68-45) at 4:08 before a 7-0 run by the Bullets to end the game.
After hitting 11-of-32 shots from beyond the arc in the opening two games, Gettysburg made only one three-pointer in 13 attempts on Sunday. Marymount hit 10-of-18 attempts from deep and made twice as many free throws as the Bullets (18-9).

Lauren Dadigan (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) made three field goals and three free throws for a season-high nine points.
Meredith Levison and Kathryn Wilson each connected on four three-pointers en route to 17 and 16 points, respectively, for the Saints. Kathleen Brown notched a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards, while Terrell White posted seven points, six rebounds, and five assists. Levison was tabbed Most Valuable Player of the event with Wilson and Brown each landing on the all-tournament team.
Gettysburg jumps right into Centennial Conference action with a championship rematch against Muhlenberg College on Tuesday, Nov. 25, at 6 p.m. The Mules beat the Bullets 80-65 in the finals of the 2008 Centennial Conference Tournament.
