WESTMINSTER, Md. – Senior
Heather Sagaities (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) connected on a two-run home run in the top of the seventh to give visiting Gettysburg College a 5-3 lead in its season finale at McDaniel College, but the Green Terror rebounded in the home-half of the inning with a walk-off three run homer to pull out a 6-5 victory and complete a doubleheader Centennial Conference sweep of the Bullets. McDaniel also came back in the opener for a 3-1 decision.
In a back-and-forth battle in the nightcap, Gettysburg (13-18, 5-11 CC) took a 3-1 lead on a two-run single by Sagaities in the fifth inning. McDaniel (13-21, 7-9 CC) took advantage of a miscue by the Bullets in the bottom of the sixth inning to score two runs and knot the contest at 3-3.
Junior
Erin Ober (Lutherville, Md./Dulaney) led off the seventh inning by drawing a walk and advanced to second on a sacrifice following a pitching change by the Green Terror. Gettysburg picked up the opening out in the bottom of the seventh, but McDaniel notched up a single by Amanda Farr and a walk by Diana Rosemier to set the stage for senior Emily Trainor. Sarah Woodbury (Audubon, Pa./Mt. St. Joseph Academy).
