GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Senior
Katie Ceglarski (Darien, Conn./Darien) had her way with visiting McDaniel College on Wednesday, pouring in a career-high seven goals and tying a personal best with 11 points to lead fourth-ranked Gettysburg College to a 19-10 victory over the Green Terror in Centennial Conference women's lacrosse action at Clark Field.
Ceglarski topped her previous career mark of six goals in a game set against Rowan University on March 3, 2006 and tied the point total she achieved just short of a year ago against Muhlenberg College. With her scoring effort against the Green Terror, the Bullet senior also topped her previous career high for points in a single season and now has a conference-best 76 points this spring.
McDaniel (7-5, 3-3 CC) gave host Gettysburg (14-1, 7-0 CC) a run in the first half and trailed just 6-5 following a goal by Brittany Baer at 13:49. The two teams traded a pair of goals to maintain the one-point difference (8-7), but senior
Krissy Browning (Baldwin, Md./Fallston) notched her third goal of the opening half on a free-position attempt at 4:55 to give the Bullets a 9-7 cushion at the break.
Ceglarski opened the second half with a goal just 21 seconds in and took over offensively, netting four goals and dishing out three assists in the final period alone. Gettysburg traded two goals for one McDaniel goal through the opening 13:59 of the second stanza to build its lead to 14-10. The Bullet defense managed to shut down the Green Terror the rest of the way, while the offense ripped off five unanswered scores, including the final two by Ceglarski.
All four of Ceglarski's assists went to different teammates, including Browning who finished the day with a career-high tying six goals. Senior
Megan Moore (Chestertown, Md./Gunston Day School) notched a hat trick and added an assist, while tying Ceglarski for team honors with seven draw controls. Sophomore
Hollis Stahl (Hightstown, N.J./Peddie School) added one goal and one assist in addition to recording team highs with four ground balls and four caused turnovers. Also reaching the scoring column for Gettysburg was senior

Baer led McDaniel with four goals and five draw controls. Kelly Scheler and Brittany Lines each added two goals, while Lindsey McDonald tallied one goal and one assist.
Sophomore
Kristen Krammer (Woodbine, Md./Glenelg) made three saves and allowed seven goals in the opening half, while freshman
Laura McIntyre (Glenmoore, Pa./Coatesville) closed the victory with three goals allowed and two saves.
Gettysburg dominated off the draw 22-9 and out-shot the Terror 48-22 in the game. The Bullets were 12-of-15 on clear attempts, while McDaniel was only 12-of-22.
Gettysburg continues its home-stand with a Centennial Conference match up against Ursinus College (5-7, 3-2 CC) on Saturday, April 12, at 1 p.m.
