FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Gettysburg College men's soccer team jumped out to an impressive start to the 2008 season with a dominating offensive display against Marymount University, beating the helpless Saints 5-1 in the first contest of the University of Mary Washington Classic on Saturday.

No time was wasted in the final stanza by Gettysburg as the Bullets found the mark twice in the first six minutes. Senior
Chris Bayon (Langhorne, Pa./Lawrenceville School (N.J.)) signed the scorebook for his first goal of the season in the 47th minute and junior
Geoff Menge (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) followed just four minutes later with a score. Sophomore
Teddy Smith (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) assisted on both Bullet tallies.
After Marymount cracked the scoring column at 53:38, Bayon polished off the scoring with his second goal from a pass by Menge at 61:11. The goal pushed the Gettysburg senior into seventh on the school's all-time lists for points (69) and goals (30).

The Bullets held sizeable advantages in the shot department (19-4) and on corner kicks (7-0) in the contest. Bayon led the way with four shots, while Hynes and fellow freshman
