GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Gettysburg College women's soccer team opened its Centennial Conference season with a bang, dominating visiting Bryn Mawr College 3-0 in front of the hometown crowd at Clark Field. The Bullets fired 27 shots and forced 15 corner kicks en route to improving to 2-1-2 overall this season.
Gettysburg remained perfect (16-0) all-time against Bryn Mawr (4-3-0, 0-1-0 CC) by dominating both ends of the field. The Owls managed a pair of second-half shot attempts, only one of which was on goal, while the Bullets peppered the goal with crosses and shots throughout the afternoon. Kerry McKenna (Sharon, Conn./Kent School) kicked home a loose ball in front of the goal for her second score of the season.
Gettysburg added its second goal about 20 minutes later via a corner kick. Following a failed header from a corner kick in the 37th minute, the Bullets once again had an opportunity to pull off the same play and succeeded as freshman
Lauren Johnson (Morristown, N.J./Morristown-Beard) found sophomore
Mara Dold (Walpole, Mass./Walpole) for a nifty one-timer at 38:38. The score was the second of the season for Dold, while Johnson picked up her second assist.
The second half played out similarly to the first with the Bullets forcing 11 shots and nine corner attempts. Senior
Caitlin McCarthy (Darnestown, Md./Holy Child) put the hosts up by three in the 61st minute when a throw-in by freshman
Chloe Zeltmann (Nesconset, N.Y./Smithtown) found its way through the defense unscathed to her waiting foot in front of the goal.

Danielle St. Pierre (Londonderry, N.H./Trinity) went untested in the opening half, while freshman
Allie Rivera (Wading River, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River) stopped the only shot she saw on goal in the final period. Bryn Mawr keeper Collette Pullion kept the score in check with several big saves and ended the contest with 11 stops.
Gettysburg squares off with second-ranked Messiah College in a non-conference contest on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Clark Field. Game time is slated for 7:30 p.m.
