GETTYSBURG, Pa. – After putting up 87 points against Swarthmore College on Thursday night, the Gettysburg College women's basketball team put in a strong encore performance on Saturday, downing Ursinus College 83-58 in a Centennial Conference contest in Bream Gym. The victory lifts the Bullets Centennial Conference record to 5-3 and improves their overall mark to 8-7.

Five players hit for double-figures for Gettysburg, led by sophomores Caitlin Moser (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing) and Mary Spicer (Floral Park, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy), who each poured in 14. Junior Courtney Fields (Baltimore, Md./St. Paul's School for Girls) added 11 points and a team-high seven rebounds, while senior Margaret White (Burke, Va./James W. Robinson) and freshman Julie McGrory (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) each tallied 10 points.

Ursinus (3-9, 2-5 CC) played even with Gettysburg through the first 12 minutes led by Carolyn Konstanzer. Konstanzer scored the Bears' first 11 points, propelling the team to a 16-12 advantage at 13:49. The Bullets had a quick response as Fields connected on back-to-back buckets to regain the advantage 17-16.

Gettysburg's margin was still one point at the eight-minute mark when McGrory canned a three-pointer, kicking off a 14-0 run by the hosts. McGrory key the streak with all 10 of her points, including a pair of three-point buckets. Starting with McGrory's first trey, the Bullets ended the half on a 23-3 run to take a 46-25 into the break.

The hosts never let up in the final period and grabbed a 30-point lead just past the midway point. The advantage ballooned to as many as 32 on an old-fashioned three-point play by Moser at 7:45 before both teams emptied their benches in the final minutes.

Gettysburg hit for 80 points in back-to-back games for the first time since late in the 2004-05 season. The squad shot over 50 percent from the field for the second consecutive contest, hitting 29-of-57 field goals (.509), including 9-of-20 from beyond the arc. The Bullets also held a decisive edge on the glass (46-24), topping their previous season-best for rebounding margin set just last game, and dished out 20 assists.

Moser finished 5-of-9 from the field and 4-of-5 from the free throw line and added six rebounds, including four on the offensive glass. Spicer did most of her damage from the charity stripe with a 9-for-10 effort and added five boards, five assists, and a pair of steals. White nailed a pair of three-point balls to move into fourth-place on Gettysburg's all-time list with 112 for her career. Fields tied a personal best with her 10th consecutive game with a made three-pointer and finished with a trio of treys overall.

The Bullets nearly put seven players in double-figures as junior guard Allie Drechsler (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) put in nine points and freshman center Sara Kinsley (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe) posted eight points to go with four rebounds.

Konstanzer led Ursinus with 20 points and six rebounds, while Jaclyn Hilf posted 16 points, 12 coming in the final period.

Next up for Gettysburg is a road trip to Franklin & Marshall's Mayser Center in Lancaster, Pa., on Thursday, Jan. 22, at 7 p.m.
