WESTMINSTER, Md. – Sophomore Caitlin Moser (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing) tied a season-high with 24 points, including 16 in the opening half, to boost visiting Gettysburg College to a 77-69 victory over McDaniel College in a key Centennial Conference women's basketball match up Wednesday night in the Gill Center.

Gettysburg (10-8, 7-4 CC) remained tied with Swarthmore College (10-8, 7-4 CC) for third place in the conference standings and pulled to within half a game of McDaniel (10-7, 8-4 CC) with Wednesday's victory. It was the Bullets' fourth-straight win over the Green Terror, matching its longest win streak in the last 25 years.

Moser's favorite colors appear to be green and gold following another stellar performance against McDaniel. In three games last season, she averaged 17.3 points and 10.3 rebounds, while canning 22-of-39 field goal attempts (56.4 percent). In the first meeting this winter, Moser connected on a career-high tying 11 field goals in 16 attempts, adding a pair of free throws to match her season best scoring effort of the season.

The Green Terror gained the upper-hand early as Ali Moreland scored seven points in the opening minutes to push the host's advantage to 15-9 just under six minutes in. Moser provided the spark for the Bullets with a steal and a quick lay-up as the visitors went off on a 15-0 run over the next five minutes. Moser scored four buckets during the stretch as Gettysburg jumped in front 24-15 at 8:09.

McDaniel closed the gap to just one point (29-28) at 2:31, but the Bullets closed the half with an 8-0 run, capped by a lay-up by Moser with three ticks left, to take a 37-29 lead into the break.

The hosts kept the visitors within site in the final stanza, pulling to within five points (43-38) three minutes in and closing to four points (54-50) at 11:16. Junior Courtney Fields (Baltimore, Md./St. Paul's School for Girls) quelled the Green Terror's comeback with her team-leading 32nd three-pointer of the season and freshman Sara Kinsley (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe) added a pair of lay-ups to push the lead back to double-figures just past the midway point of the half.

McDaniel pulled to within six twice in the final five minutes of regulation, but Gettysburg hit six consecutive free throws and a lay-up to help seal the win.

Gettysburg posted its third-best shooting effort of the season, knocking down 30-of-62 shot attempts from the floor (48.4 percent). The Bullets out-rebounded an opponent for the fifth-straight game, ripping down 40 caroms, including 18 on the offensive glass.

Fields finished with 13 points and five rebounds and connected on a three-pointer for the 13th consecutive game, which also moved her into sole possession of fifth place on Gettysburg's all-time list at 111 for her career. Freshman Lauren Dadigan (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) came through for a career-high 11 points and tied Moser for team honors with six rebounds. She was 4-of-7 from the field and a perfect 3-of-3 at the charity stripe.

Sophomore Mary Spicer (Floral Park, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) posted seven points, five assists, and four steals for the Bullets, while Kinsley and fellow first-year Julie McGrory (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) each notched eight points.

Moreland led McDaniel with 20 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the floor. Ashley Lyles added 10 points and six boards, while Kim Staub led the Green Terror's bench production with 11 points. Whitney Snoops led the rebounding effort with a game-high seven rebounds.

Gettysburg takes on Washington (Md.) College (9-7, 4-6 CC) on Saturday, Jan. 31, at 2 p.m.
