Gettysburg trailed only once in the opening half after outscoring Hopkins 12-5 to start the game. The Bullets lead reached double digits (20-10) after a lay-up from junior guard
Brendan Hager (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) with 11:20 left. A 6-1 Blue Jay spurt cut the deficit in half, but Gettysburg answered with a 10-0 burst to open up its 15-point advantage. Powers scored six of the final eight points during the run, which he capped with a lay-up at the 2:33 mark.
Kamm breathed some life into the Jays when he canned a trey with 2:12 to go, breaking a 6:22 scoreless drought. A Baumgartner lay-up and a Henrici jumper cut it to eight before Leland O'Connor drained a fastbreak three-pointer at the buzzer to make it 31-25 at the half.

The Bullets chipped away at the lead and were able to tie it up on two more Powers free throws with 6:58 showing, but that's as close as they would get. Gettysburg trailed 61-56 with 1:31 left after a Capkin bucket, but that's when the Blue Jays iced the game at the foul line.
