ORLANDO, Fla. – The Gettysburg College women's lacrosse team picked up its second victory over a nationally-ranked foe this spring as the fifth-ranked Bullets held No. 10 Stevens Institute of Technology to one goal in the final period en route to a 13-8 victory at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orland, Fla.

Gettysburg (3-0), which knocked off No. 16 University of Mary Washington in its season opener, received a game-high five goals from junior Hannah Church (Ellicott City, Md./Mount de Sales). Senior Marnie Commins (Fairfax Station, Va./Robinson) tossed in three goals, capping the day with her 100th career point, while sophomore Lindsey Robinson (Potomac, Md./Holton-Arms) put up two goals and two assists.

The Bullets jumped out to a slow start against Stevens (1-1) as the Ducks tallied four-straight goals after Church's game-opening score. Gettysburg steadily chipped away at the lead by scoring a series of back-to-back goals. The Orange and Blue took the lead 7-6 after a free-position shot by Robinson at 5:54, but Stevens tied the contest on a free-position goal of their own just over a minute later.

Gettysburg jumped back in front with the final two goals of the opening period before putting up each of the first four of the second. Church, freshman Loren Pruitt (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown), and Commins each scored twice during the run, the last by Pruitt giving the squad a 13-7 lead with 7:06 left.

The Bullets' defense held Stevens to just one goal on six shots in the second half. Senior Becky Lutz (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) logged four caused turnovers and three draw controls to key the effort. Sophomore Kat Nestor (Darien, Conn./Darien) scooped up five ground balls and posted one caused turnover.

Junior Maddie Coleman (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County) played the entire second half in the cage and made four saves, while senior Laura McIntyre (Glenmoore, Pa./Coatesville) posted three stops in the first period.

Next up is Gettysburg's toughest test to date as the Bullets face No. 2 Hamilton College on Wednesday, March 16, at 8:30 a.m.
