WESTMINSTER, Md. – Junior Maddie Coleman made a career-high 12 saves and the sixth-ranked Gettysburg College women's lacrosse team remained perfect in Centennial Conference play with a 10-5 victory at McDaniel College on Wednesday.

Gettysburg (8-2, 5-0 CC) received three goals from junior Hannah Church and two goals and an assist from both sophomore Lindsey Robinson and freshman Kelsey Markiewicz.

The Bullets had no issues early as senior Marnie Commins scored off a pass from sophomore Lindsay Menton just 54 seconds into the contest. Gettysburg added seven more goals before McDaniel (1-10, 1-5 CC) finally cracked the scoring column before the end of the opening half.

The visitor's were unable to maintain the pace in the final stanza, committing 14 of their game-high 25 turnovers in the period. McDaniel took advantage, netting four of the first five goals to pull to 9-5 with 13 minutes left.

Gettysburg held off the late charge as freshman Katie Blumenthal put in the game's final tally from Robinson at 7:39.

The Bullets were out-shot by a conference opponent in the regular season for the first time since the 2009 regular-season finale against Franklin & Marshall College. McDaniel finished with a 27-19 edge in shots, while Gettysburg led in ground balls (22-19) and draw controls (9-8).

Coleman topped her previous personal best by two set just last week against top-ranked College of New Jersey. She was aided in the defensive end by senior Becky Lutz and junior Lexi Kelly who each tallied three caused turnovers. Lutz added a team-best three draw controls, while Kelly scooped up a career-high eight ground balls.

Lisa Jurd and Paige Messersmith each tossed in a pair of goals for McDaniel, while Aimee Semier made six stops in the cage.

Gettysburg returns to action this Saturday, April 9, with a conference road trip to Ursinus College. Game time is set for noon.
