Sara Kinsley recorded her seventh double-double of the season, but it wasn't enough to lift Gettysburg College to a win in its season finale as host McDaniel College held on for a 52-50 decision Saturday afternoon.
Kinsley put up 16 points and 14 boards for Gettysburg (12-13, 10-10 CC) in her final collegiate contest. She also blocked four shots, boosting her school career record to 177. Junior
Alyssa Oursler added 10 points, seven rebounds, and four steals in what will also be her final game as a Bullet as she will graduate early.
Rachael Rybak led McDaniel (11-14, 8-12 CC) with a game-high 17 points. Kelsey Franklin chipped in 13 points and Steph Perez added eight off the bench for the Green Terror.
The first half was tightly contested until McDaniel turned in seven consecutive points to take a 10-point advantage (24-14) with 6:28 left in the period. Gettysburg, which shot just 23.3 percent in the opening stanza, found itself down 31-23 at the break.
The Bullets rallied in the second half, slicing a nine-point deficit down to two with less than 10 minutes to play. Senior

On the very next possession, Rybak knocked down a three-pointer to end the run. Gettysburg clawed back to four points twice in the final 2:18, the last time via a lay-up by sophomore
Cori Younghans that put the score at 52-48 with 17 ticks left. Despite forcing a turnover on the next Green Terror possession, the Bullets were unable to pull closer with two missed shots in the final 13 seconds. A putback by Kinsley at the buzzer capped the day.
Gettysburg shot 27.4 percent (17-for-62) from the field, including just 4-of-18 from beyond the arc. The Bullets out-rebounded the Green Terror 44-33 with 19 caroms on the offensive glass.
