GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Gettysburg College women's basketball team will open postseason play at Haverford College in the first round of the Centennial Conference Tournament on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m.
Gettysburg (16-8, 10-8 CC) finished in fifth place in the conference during the regular season, while Haverford (15-10, 13-5 CC) finished one spot higher in fourth. The Fords won both meetings with the Bullets this season, earning a 59-33 win inside Bream Gym on Jan. 13 and claiming a 70-56 decision on their court on Feb. 14. Gettysburg leads the all-time series with Haverford 27-6.
The Bullets are making their third consecutive appearance in the CC playoffs, and it is the program's ninth postseason berth in the last 13 years. Gettysburg claimed its first Centennial title in 2013 by beating Swarthmore College in the championship game. As the fifth seed last season, the Bullets knocked off Muhlenberg College 66-51 before falling to eventual champion Haverford in the semifinals. Gettysburg is 2-5 all-time in the opening round of the CC Tournament.
The winner of Tuesday's match up will draw top seed and host McDaniel College (23-2, 16-2 CC) in the semifinals on Friday, Feb. 27, at 6 p.m. The second semifinal will pit Muhlenberg College (18-7, 15-3 CC) against Johns Hopkin University (16-8, 13-5 CC) at 8 p.m. The conference championship will be held at McDaniel on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 4 p.m.
