Katie Landry (Hingham, Mass./Hingham) each tossed in four goals to pace No. 5 Gettysburg past FDU-Florham 13-6 in the second round of the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship at Clark Field on Sunday.
Gettysburg (16-3) won its NCAA debut for the seventh consecutive season and the Bullets will face No. 12 York (Pa.) College (14-5) in the next round on Saturday, May 16. York, which defeated Union College 10-6 on Sunday, fell to Gettysburg 15-9 during the regular season. Game time and location will be officially released on Monday.
After scoring its first-ever NCAA win over Cabrini College on Saturday, FDU-Florham (17-4) was faced with a fresh Gettysburg squad on Clark Field. The Devils turned the ball over on five of their first six clear attempts and the hosts made the visitors pay with the game's first six goals. Landry started the run off a feed from Kenny at 28:41 and just 26 seconds later, Kenny lit the lamp for her first score. The pair would each tally two more goals as part of a 6-0 run to start the game.
Brienna Reasoner scored the first of her four goals at 12:41 to put FDU-Florham on the board. Junior
Samantha Aiello (Sparks, Md./Maryvale Prep) scored a man-up goal at 8:48 to give Gettysburg a 7-1 lead, which is where it would remain heading into the half.
The Devils held the Bullets at bay in the early stages of the final period with Joelle Manganella and Reasoner each scoring to pull the score to 7-3. Junior
Amanda Borucki (Westminster, Md./North Carroll) scored on a free-position shot at 22:06 and Kenny followed up with a tally 41 seconds later to boost the lead back to six.
Gettysburg came up empty on its next six shot attempts, while FDU sliced the lead back to four (9-5) with goals by Reasoner and Manganella. The Devils would get no closer as the Bullet defense locked down, forcing turnovers on each of the next six possessions by the visitors. Senior
Kate Higgins (Oreland, Pa./William Penn Charter School) posted a pair of caused turnovers during the final stretch.
The Bullets tallied four consecutive goals with Landry's final tally making it 13-5 with 1:15 to play.
Gettysburg posted a season-high 43 shot attempts and tied a season-high with 25 ground balls. The two teams split 20 draw controls. Gettysburg's defense forced FDU-Florham into 14 failed clear attempts and 26 turnovers overall.
Landry posted four goals, an assist, three ground balls, and two caused turnovers, while Kenny finished with four goals, two assists, and three draw controls. The senior moved past
Pam Williams '88 into eighth for most career points at Gettysburg with 234. Junior

The Bullet defense came up with a season-high 15 caused turnovers, including four by Higgins. The senior defender also came up with a career-high six ground balls. Junior

Reasoner paced FDU with four goals and three draw controls. Manganella finished with two goals and Kelsey Ryan picked up five ground balls. Goalie Grace Warburton totaled 13 saves in the loss.
