Box Score

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Gettysburg College women's basketball team recorded its most lopsided win over Franklin & Marshall College in over three decades with a 76-34 decision inside Bream Gym on Wednesday night.

Gettysburg (11-3, 5-3 CC) dominated all aspects of the game with Franklin & Marshall (4-12, 3-7 CC). The Bullets out-rebounded the Diplomats 54-40, held the visitors to just 20 percent shooting from the field, and tallied 22 assists on 30 field goals. It was the program's biggest win over F&M since a 46-point (86-40) victory in 1984-85.

A dozen players hit the scoring column for the hosts with three netting double-figures. Freshman Emma Dorshimer (Jenkintown, Pa./Jenkintown) canned 5-of-9 shots from the floor and all five of her free throw attempts on the way to a game-high 17 points. Sophomore Emily Gibbons (Annapolis, Md./Severn School) and junior Sara Graham (Pottstown, Pa./The Hill School) each tallied 10 points with the latter adding 10 boards for her second-straight double-double of the season.

The teams posted the only tie of the game after trading opening buckets, but the deadlock didn't last long as the Bullets grabbed a double-figure lead at 15-4 with 2:48 left in the opening quarter. Freshman Shannon Tobin (Newark, Del./Caravel Academy) banked in a three-pointer from the corner to give her team a 22-6 lead after the first period.

Gettysburg tacked on the final 14 points of the first half to surge into the locker room with a commanding 44-12 lead.

The advantage dipped below 30 for just 16 seconds in the final period.

Gettysburg finished 30-of-64 (46.9 percent) from the field. The Bullets also held sizeable leads in points in the paint (34-14), second-chance points (16-3), and bench points (32-5).

Senior Jessica Porter (Narberth, Pa./Lower Merion) grabbed 10 rebounds and posted six points, while classmate Emily Duggan (Marmora, N.J./Ocean City) tallied eight points and seven rebounds.
