Box Score

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Senior Jessica Porter (Narberth, Pa./Lower Merion) didn't take many shots at Washington College on Saturday, but she made every one count as the Bullets dropped the Shorewomen 61-46 in a Centennial Conference match up.

Porter went 5-for-5 from the field on the way to a team-high 15 points for Gettysburg (13-4, 7-4 CC), which moved into a three-way tie for third place in the conference standings. Freshman Emma Dorshimer (Jenkintown, Pa./Jenkintown) added a dozen points, while sophomore Emily Gibbons (Annapolis, Md./Severn School) tossed in 10 for the Bullets.

Gettysburg never trailed in the contest. Porter did most of her damage in the second quarter, pouring in eight of the team's 17 points. After Washington sliced the lead to 14-10 on a three-pointer by Alexis Krahling, the Bullet senior canned a three-pointer to push the advantage back to seven. An eight-point run to end the half gave the Bullets a 31-15 lead going into the locker room.

The visitors cruised in the second half as the lead reached a game-high 27 (50-23) on a lay-up by sophomore Annie Reilly (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) with 1:55 left in the third quarter.

Gettysburg connected on 22-of-49 (44.9 percent) field goals and out-rebounded Washington 39-27. The Bullets out-scored the Shorewomen 28-12 in the paint.

In addition to her perfect night from the floor, Porter added four rebounds, four assists, and two blocks. She also climbed past Elizabeth Ross '05 for ninth on the program's all-time scoring list with 1,072 points.

Dorshimer finished 4-of-6 from the floor, including nailing both her three-point attempts. Gibbons picked up five rebounds and three assists. Senior Emily Duggan (Marmora, N.J./Ocean City) grabbed seven rebounds, while classmate Kim Ryan (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) chipped in with seven points. Sophomore Jamie Relin (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township) led the reserves with six points and four rebounds.
