LANCASTER, Pa. – Gettysburg College and McDaniel College will meet for the third time this season in the semifinals of the Centennial Conference Women's Basketball Championship hosted by Muhlenberg College this Friday.
Gettysburg (19-5, 13-5 CC) enters the postseason event as the No. 3 seed, while McDaniel (20-5, 15-3 CC) grabbed the second seed. The two teams will meet at 8 p.m. inside Memorial Hall in Allentown, Pa., on Friday.
Friday's first semifinal, which begins at 6, will pit top-seed Muhlenberg (22-2, 16-2 CC) against the winner of Wednesday's opening-round game between Dickinson College (15-9, 11-7 CC) and Haverford College (15-10, 10-8 CC). The Red Devils host the Fords at 7:30 on Wednesday.
Gettysburg split the season series with McDaniel. The Green Terror mounted a furious fourth-quarter rally to defeat the Bullets 73-60 in Bream Gym on Jan. 27. In the rematch on McDaniel's home court last Saturday, the Orange and Blue emerged victorious 73-64. McDaniel holds a 50-39 lead in the all-time series between the two schools, but Gettysburg holds a 4-1 advantage in the league tournament.
Gettysburg is making its fourth consecutive and 13th appearance overall in the conference tournament. The Bullets have advanced to the title game twice, including winning the program's first Centennial title in 2013 inside Bream Gym.
