Box Score COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus College kept up with Gettysburg College for about 11 minutes before the floodgates opened and the sixth-ranked Bullets ran away with a 17-5 decision in Centennial Conference women's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon.
Ursinus (6-6, 2-3 CC) scored the game's first goal 67 seconds in and after a pair of tallies by Gettysburg (12-1, 6-0 CC), Franny Liberatoscioli forced a 2-2 tie on a free-position goal with 21:27 left in the first half.
Junior
Shannon Keeler (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) posted one of her nine first-half saves shortly after and the Bullets followed the defensive stop with a goal by junior
Caroline Jaeger (Hampton, N.J./North Hunterdon) at 18:59. Senior
Emily Tropsa (Darien, Conn./Darien) scored 25 seconds later on a free-position shot as Gettysburg mounted a 9-0 run to end the first period.
Included in the first-half goal spurt were back-to-back goals by seniors
Abby Baigelman (Larchmont, N.Y./Mamaroneck) and
Maggie Connolly (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) just 10 seconds apart.
The Bears opened the second half with a goal by Abby Goldstein at 28:41. Sophomore
Maggie Welsh (Rye, N.Y./Holy Child) came right back to score 15 seconds later to kick off a six-goal run. Sophomore
Katie Willis (Baltimore, Md./Notre Dame Prep) capped Gettysburg's offensive output with a goal to make it 17-3 with 9:25 to play.
For the fifth time in seven games, Gettysburg canned better than 50 percent of its shot attempts by going 17-of-29 (58.6 percent). All but two shots were on goal. The Bullets committed just eight turnovers, marking the third consecutive outing with eight or less.
Connolly finished with a hat trick, while senior
Amanda Borucki (Westminster, Md./North Carroll), sophomore
Emma Christie (Cos Cob, Conn./Greenwich), and sophomore
Katie Landry (Hingham, Mass./Hingham) each tallied two goals and one assist. Landry picked up her 100th career point on a second-half goal, becoming the third Bullet this season to reach the milestone behind Borucki and Baigelman, who finished with two goals on Saturday. Freshman
Steph Colson (Westminster, Md./Manchester Valley) also tossed in a pair of goals.

Bailey Pilder (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) posted five saves in the final 30 minutes. Senior
Christina Wright (Kingsville, Md./Fallston) paced the defense with two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
