How It Happened…
  • First Quarter
    • Gettysburg came up empty offensively in the first quarter, but MacMillan prevented Stevenson from gaining any momentum with six saves. The Mustangs turned in the quarter's only tally by Ryan Coleman with 4:42 left in the stanza.
  • Second Quarter
    • Josh Brannan pushed the host's lead to 2-0 with a score 57 seconds into the period, but Stevenson would not find the back of the net again for over 20 minutes on the game clock. Meanwhile, the Gettysburg offense picked up steam with senior Michael McCormick (Lorton, Va./Paul VI Catholic) kicking off a 5-0 run at 12:58. Cooper posted a pair of goals with the last giving the visitor's a 4-2 edge heading into halftime.
  • Third Quarter
    • The Bullets took a 5-2 lead on a goal by sophomore Griffin Gallagher (Ardmore, Pa./Shipley School) 4:26 into the third quarter. Stevenson fired a trio of shots in the direction of the cage on its next possession with Leydig ending Gettysburg's scoring run and cutting the deficit to 5-3 with 8:26 left in the frame.
    • MacMillan posted a big save with his team a man-down not long after and tallied two more stops before Kolen hit the back of the net. Cooper completed his hat trick to make it a 7-3 advantage at the end of the quarter.
  • Fourth Quarter
    • The Bullets forced turnovers on three of Stevenson's first four possessions of the period, but the Mustangs would eventually pull to 8-5 on a man-up goal by Jacob Tatum with 6:56 left. The hosts would get no closer with MacMillan tacking on three more stops and Kolen and McCormick posting a pair of goals just 25 seconds apart in the final minutes.

By the Numbers
  • Stevenson finished with a 42-24 edge in shots and 37-36 lead in ground balls.
  • MacMillan recorded double-figure saves for the third-straight outing and finished just three stops shy of his personal high set just 10 days ago against Goucher.
  • Kolen is just four points shy of becoming the 10th Bullet with 200 career points. He is one point shy of Neil Mitchell '83 and Chris Boehmcke '83 on the program's all-time list.
  • Wykoff has scooped at least four ground balls in every game this season. He leads the team with 28 ground balls on the year.
