How It Happened…
  • First Quarter
    • After winning the opening face-off, Muhlenberg struck first as Kraemer connected 45 seconds into the game.
    • May smothered a pair of Gettysburg shots, but the press by the hosts eventually found pay-dirt with Ward converting a pass from freshman Quinton Mather (Avon, Conn./Avon Old Farms) with 7:11 left in the period. After a turnover by the Mules, Hume connected on a shot in front of the cage for a 2-1 lead at 5:40.
    • The first man-up opportunity went to the visitors and Muhlenberg cashed in with a goal by Marrella at 2:32. Just 41 seconds later, defensive midfielder Alexander Giaquinto scored in transition and Grossman added the quarter's final tally to give the Mules a 4-2 edge.
  • Second Quarter
    • Just three minutes into the second period, the game was halted due to the presence of lightning in the nearby vicinity. The teams left the field for about 40 minutes until the weather cleared.
    • Sullivan posted three saves when the teams returned, including on back-to-back attempts by PJ Lombara and Grossman. The Bullets halted the three-goal run by the Mules with a low shovel shot by Hume at 6:21. Hume tied the game two minutes later and after dishing out the assists on those two goals, Ward tacked on his second goal on an assist from Fletcher for a 5-4 lead at 3:48.
    • Muhlenberg regained the advantage heading into the break. Wyatt Malia and Kraemer each scored goals to set the score at 6-5.
  • Third Quarter
    • Despite forcing turnovers on Muhlenberg's first two possessions of the second half, the Bullets were unable to knot the game as May stopped a shot by Fletcher at 13:30. The Mules came back with a goal by Marrella one minute later.
    • The opposing defenses locked in for the next 10 minutes with no goals allowed. The Bullets forced four turnovers by the Mules, but May held back the hosts with a pair of saves and a caused turnover. Marrella eventually broke through for an unassisted tally at 2:56 to extend the lead to 8-5.
    • Fletcher cut into the deficit with a goal with 55 seconds left in the period, but Burke won the ensuing face-off and dished to Grossman six seconds later to regain the three-goal lead.
  • Fourth Quarter
    • The teams made a quick exchange of four goals in the first three minutes of the final period with junior Griffin Gallagher (Ardmore, Pa./Shipley School) maintaining the three-goal margin (11-8) with a goal at 12:01.
    • The Mules received a boost when defensive midfielder Cole Draghi dashed up the field and converted a fast-break goal at 7:14. Less than a minute later, Kraemer scored to make it a 13-8 lead for Muhlenberg.
    • Howard tried to seize momentum for Gettysburg with a pair of goals to slice the deficit to 13-10 with 3:34. The Bullets turned the ball over twice over the next minute of play setting up Grossman for his third goal. Lombara added the game's final score with 58 seconds remaining.
