Gettysburg, Pa. - No. 6 York College scored twice in the final seven minutes of Saturday's non-conference men's lacrosse showdown at No. 15 Gettysburg College to rally for a 9-8 victory at Shirk Field at Musselman Stadium.

Will Harnick scored the game-winner with 2:55 remaining in regulation to lift the Spartans (12-2) to their 10th consecutive victory.

Quinton Mather (Avon, Conn./Avon Old Farm) scored four goals, and senior goalkeeper
Scott MacMillan (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) made 13 saves for the Bullets (9-5), who led 6-3 at halftime.

Griffin Gallagher (Ardmore, Pa./Shipley School) opened the scoring just 25 seconds into Saturday's contest before Mather doubled Gettysburg's lead at the 10:38 mark of the first quarter.Â

York sandwiched a pair of goals around a man-up tally from senior
Spencer Knife (Venice, Calif./Winston Churchill) to put the Bullets' lead at 3-2 at the end of the first quarter.Â

The Spartans leveled the score 59 seconds into the second stanza, but Gettysburg netted the final three markers of the period. Back-to-back goals from Mather followed by Knife's second tally of the day gave the hosts a 6-3 halftime advantage.Â

York came out strong after the intermission, using a four-goal surge in the third quarter to claim a 7-6 edge heading into the final 15 minutes of play.

The Bullets battled back in the fourth quarter, leveling the contest at seven-apiece when junior
George Raymond (Darien, Conn./Suffield Academy) found the back of the net off a feed from fellow junior
Connor Koch (Glenview, Ill./Loyola Academy) with 8:57 remaining.

Just 47 seconds later, Mather fired home his fourth goal of the game off an assist from senior
Kieran Ward (Malvern, Pa./Malvern Prep) to put Gettysburg back in front, 8-7.Â
The Spartans knotted the contest back up at the 6:49 mark before getting the eventual game-winner from Harnick with just under three minutes left on the clock.

Gettysburg narrowly missed out on another equalizer as a shot by Knife with just over 20 seconds remaining went high as the visitors held on for the victory.

Knife (2 goals), Raymond (1 goal, 1 assist), and Ward (2 assists) joined Mather with multi-point efforts in the loss.

Jonathan Moshe (Port Jefferson, N.Y./Earl L Vandermeulen) led the Bullets with eight groundballs while going 10-for-21 on face-offs.

The Bullets enjoyed a strong day on special teams, going 2-for-4 on extra-man opportunities while holding the Spartans scoreless in four man-up chances.

York finished the afternoon with a 45-36 advantage in shots and a 36-29 edge in groundballs. The Spartans also held a narrow, 11-10 edge in face-off wins while both teams went 22-for-25 on clears. The visitors were plus-two in the turnover department, with 15 giveaways versus 17 for the Bullets.
