THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg got out to a seven-point lead in the first half, and a big third quarter ensured that the Bullets never trailed from then on.

THE LEADERS
Mackenzie Szlosek (Holtsville, N.Y./Sachem East) led all scorers with 18 points, and also grabbed four rebounds.
Alayna Arnolie (Vienna, Va./James Madison) put up 13 of her own, and collected seven rebounds.

FOR THE FOES
• Chinwe Irondi carried the Ursinus offense with 16 points and 11 rebounds, notching a double-double.

THE REST OF THE STORY
Alayna Arnolie converted early for the Bullets off a fastbreak steal by Mackenzie Szlosek, but Chinwe Irondi responded with a layup at the other end, tallying the first two of her nine points in the quarter. The teams would notch another tie at 4-all, before a three-point play by Irondi put the Bears in the lead, 5-4. A jumper by Szlosek and two free throws by Madison Smith yielded the Bears' second lead, at 8-7. It would ultimately be the last time Ursinus got in front in the game, as the Bullets went on an 8-4 run to lead by three, 15-12, at the end of the quarter. Three different Bullets scored within the stretch.
• Arnolie again notched the first points of the quarter for the Bullets, knocking down a trey only 14 seconds into the second quarter. Dejah Hill (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) and Irondi traded buckets to give the Bullets a six-point advantage with 7:52 showing, and no points would be scored for the next five minutes. Szlosek finally broke through as she split a pair at the line, and each team scored four more on the half to give the Bullets a seven-point lead, 25-18, going into the locker room.
• Strong defense by Gettysburg helped them push away from Ursinus in the third. The teams traded baskets within the first three minutes to yield a 29-22 score, but Caitlyn Priore put up two blocks on the Bears' leading scorer to help Gettysburg pull ahead. The Bullets went on a 9-7 run, with Arnolie contributing four, to give them a 38-29 edge with 1:27 left in the third. In the last 30 seconds, Szlosek had two buckets within 15 seconds of each other, pushing Gettysburg to a strong 13-point lead with one quarter left to play.
Shinya Lee (Rochester, N.Y./Holderness Prep School), Arnolie, and Szlosek combined to stretch the Bullets' lead to 18 with only five minutes left to play. Ursinus would only be able to bring the deficit down to 15, as the Bullets ran away with a 52-37 road win.
