GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Gettysburg will host one of the two semifinals of 2023 Centennial Conference (CC) women's basketball championship tournament on Friday. Game time is 7 p.m.
The Bullets (19-6, 16-4 CC), the No. 2 seed in the new six-team format, will host the winner of Tuesday's first-round game between No. 3 Dickinson (17-7, 15-5 CC) and No. 6 Washington (13-12, 9-11 CC), which starts at 7 p.m., while top-seeded Johns Hopkins (20-5, 17-3 CC) hosts the winner of fourth-seeded Haverford (15-9, 13-7 CC) and fifth-seeded Muhlenberg (13-12, 12-8 CC), which begins at 7:30 p.m. in Friday night's other semifinal at 6 p.m.
The semifinal winners will advance to Sunday's championship game, which will be played at the site of the highest remaining seed. Game time will be finalized following the semifinals on Friday.
The tournament's champion will earn the CC's automatic bid to the 2023 NCAA Division III tournament, slated to begin on Mar. 3. The NCAA field will be announced on Monday at 2:30 p.m.
The Bullets are seeking their fourth conference title and second straight. It is the 19th tournament appearance for Gettysburg and ninth in a row. The Bullets are also in search of their 10th NCAA tournament bid.
Admission to each tournament game is $5 for adults and $3 for youth, ages 13-18. Children under 12 and students from participating institutions with a valid ID are free.
Sophomore
Mackenzie Szlosek (Holtsville, N.Y./Sachem East) leads Gettysburg in scoring at 13.4 points per game and is second in rebounding at 6.2 rebounds per contest. She also leads the team with 48 assists and 38 steals. Freshman
Alayna Arnolie (Vienna, Va./James Madison) is also averaging double figures in the scoring column at 10.5 ppg. She also has 41 assists and 34 steals.
Sophomore
Shinya Lee (Rochester, N.Y./Holderness Prep School) leads the team in rebounding (6.9 rpg) and blocked shots (80). Junior Caitlin Priore (Holland, Pa./Germantown Academy) has blocked 55 shots to go with 5.9 rebounds per game.
