Gettysburg's Luke Kowalski (Derwood, Md./St. John's College) was the team's lone representative at the NCAA Division III wrestling championship at the Berglund Center in Roanoke, Va.

THE LEADERS
• Luke Kowalski had to wrestle into the main bracket in his first bout, recording a 1-minute, 56-second fall of Wisconsin-Whitewater's Dominik Mallinder. Kowalski then fell into the consolation bracket with a 6-3 setback to Cortland's Jayden Cardenas. In the consolation bracket, Kowalski topped Trinity (Conn.)'s Adam Schaeublin 17-3 and Wartburg's Joe Pins 14-10 to advance to Saturday's action. Kowalski is a position to become an All-American on day two once he steps on the mat.
