Gettysburg defeated Washington (Md.) for the first time ever, 6-3, to clinch a spot in the Centennial Conference playoffs. The Bullets snapped an 0-30 losing streak to the Shoremen in the win.

Tyler Blanz (Glen Ridge, N.J./Glen Ridge) clinched the Bullets' victory with his win at third singles.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Gettysburg won all three doubles matches to begin with a 3-0 advantage. The first doubles team of
Adam Contract (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) and
Alex Kagan (Guilford, Conn./Guilford) won 8-5 before the second doubles team of
Matt Porreca and
Tyler Blanz (Glen Ridge, N.J./Glen Ridge), and the third team of
Mikey Fellman and
JP Damare (Raleigh, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons) both won their match 8-6.
• In singles play, Contract won by a score of 5-2, 6-4 at second singles. Blanz went to a tiebreaker set in his third singles match, playing to a 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 to buy Gettysburg their bid into the playoffs.

Ben O'Connor-Skloot (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y./Dobbs Ferry) picked up Gettysburg's final win of the day with an 8-1 victory at fifth singles.
NEXT UP
Gettysburg is the fifth seed in the Centennial Conference tournament. The Bullets will play their first-round match on Wednesday. Opponent and match time will be announced on Monday.
