THE SKINNY STORY
Susquehanna scored the final 17 points of the first half to take a 31-22 lead into the intermission and defeat No. 24 Gettysburg 74-56 in the championship game of the Susquehanna Tipoff Tournament.

THE LEADERS
• Kimberly Hopkins (Baldwin, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) led the Bullets with 16 points and seven rebounds. She also had two assists and a blocked shot.

FOR THE FOES
• Julia Roth led the River Hawks with a double-double, contributing 16 points and 13 rebounds.
• Annie Greek paced all scorers with 19 points.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• After a back-and-forth start to the game, Sarah Bertolette (Farmington, Conn./Farmington) hit a layup with 5:25 showing to tie the game at 6-all and spark a 8-0 run in just three minutes to open up a 12-6 lead and led 16-10 after one period.
• A Reagan Chrencik (New Hope, Pa./New Hope-Solebury) hit a layup nearly two minutes into the second quarter to extend the lead to eight. Two Jameson Mott (Evergreen, Colo./Evergreen) free throws made it a 22-14 game with 5:54 showing before Susquehanna closed the half on a 17-0 run. Julia Roth scored nine of those points and the River Hawks hit 7 of 9 shots from the floor during the run that gave the hosts a 31-22 halftime lead.
• Two Julia Pinckert free throws just 27 seconds into the second half pushed the lead to double digits for the first time. Four points from Adeline Standish (Avon, Conn./Avon) helped Gettysburg answer with an 8-2 stretch that halted a 7-minute, 12-second scoreless drought. After two Pinckert free throws, Standish canned a pair of her own from the charity stripe and Kimberly Hopkins added a layup to close the deficit to 37-34 with 3:50 remaining but an 8-2 River Hawks counter pushed the lead back to nine just over two minutes later. An Amanda Rapel (Stewartsville, N.J./Phillipsburg) pull-up jumper and two Hopkins free throws closed the deficit to 45-40 entering the final period.
• Another Rapel basket made it a one-possession game on the opening possession of the fourth quarter. However, Susquehanna needed just 64 seconds to score nine straight points to stretch the lead to 54-42 with 8:02 to play and Gettysburg got no closer than eight the rest of the way. The River Hawks held a double-digit lead for the game's final 5:55.

THE INSIDE STORY
• Adeline Standish recorded her first collegiate double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds. She also had four blocked shots.
