THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg shot 57.1 percent in the third quarter and outscored Franklin & Marshall 20-5 in the period and led by 10 points after being down the entire first half, ultimately notching a 62-41 win in its Centennial Conference opener.
THE LEADERS
•
Ava O'Neil (Chevy Chase, Md./St. John's College) led the Bullets with a career-high 18 points to go with two assist, three steals and three rebounds.

Reagan Chrencik (New Hope, Pa./New Hope-Solebury) added 12 points, 12 rebounds and four blocked shots.
FOR THE FOES
• Lizzie Neville paced the Diplomats with 14 points and nine rebounds.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Franklin & Marshall jumped out to an 8-0 lead before
Reagan Chrencik got the hosts on the board with 5:04 showing in the first quarter. The Diplomats pushed the lead out to 13-4 on a Mackenzie Ward long two-pointer a minute later.
Kimberly Hopkins (Baldwin, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) scored in transition to close the margin to 13-8 after one quarter.
• The lead extended back to nine before an
Ava O'Neil 3-pointer sparked a quick 7-0 burst in just 56 seconds to close the margin to 19-17 with 5:18 on the clock. Neville, however, responded with the next four points and F&M scored seven of the next nine to stretch the lead back to eight. Another O'Neil triple closed the deficit to 27-22 at the break.
• After Gia Sioutis hit a jumper to make it a seven-point game but Gettysburg went on a 15-1 run to turn the deficit into a seven-point lead with 2:19 on the clock. O'Neil and Chrencik combined for the final 11 points of the run. Gianna Modica snapped an eight-minute scoring drought but an O'Neil 3-pointer and
Sasha Brody (Lynchburg, Va./Virginia Episcopal School) extended the lead to double digits for the first time and a 42-32 lead after three quarters.
• A Fiona Reckner 3-pointer made it 44-35 but the Bullets scored 14 of the next 17 points to made it a 20-point game and seal their 25th win in the series.
THE INSIDE STORY
•
Adeline Standish (Avon, Conn./Avon) added 11 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots.
• Gettysburg finished the game with a 51-38 rebounding advantage and outshot Franklin & Marshall by a 34.8 percent to 26.6 percent margin.
