Gettysburg doubles up Bryn Mawr in regular-season finale

THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked 12th in the latest D3hoops.com poll, used a 26-6 third quarter to turn a 20-point halftime lead into a 40-point margin, defeating Bryn Mawr 84-42 in the regular-season finale.

THE LEADERS
Briana Robles (Staten Island, N.Y./Poly Prep) established a career high with 15 points to pace the Bullets, who had five players score nine or more points.

FOR THE FOES
• Jessica Smith led the Owls with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Bryn Mawr jumped out to a 9-3 lead in the first 2:50 of the game before two AB Holsinger (Charlottesville, Va./Langley) free throws with 6:42 on the clock started a 15-0 run to seize control of the contest. Jameson Mott (Evergreen, Colo./Evergreen) scored five of her 10 points in the stretch while Kimberly Hopkins (Baldwin, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) scored four.
• Holding an 18-11 lead entering the second quarter, Mott scored five points in a 42-second stretch to build the lead to 12. Bryn Mawr closed to within 23-15 but an Alayna Arnolie (Vienna, Va./James Madison) hit a stepback with 6:26 showing to start a 9-1 run that built the lead to 34-16 with 3:38 to play en route to a 42-22 halftime lead.
• Gettysburg scored the first 12 points of the third quarter, holding Bryn Mawr without a point for 6 minutes, 3 seconds to grow the lead to 32. Gettysburg's final 14 points of the third period were scored by freshmen to extend the lead to 68-28.
Briana Robles scored the Bullets' first seven points of the fourth quarter to extend the lead to 75-32 with 7:48 on the clock. The advantage grew as large as 49 on a Robles triple to make it 84-35 with 4:26 to play but the Owls scored the game's final seven points.

THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg will be the No. 2 seed in next week's Centennial Conference tournament after Johns Hopkins won a coin toss to earn the top seed.
Jameson Mott, Kimberly Hopkins and Shinya Lee (Rochester, N.Y./Holderness Prep School) each tallied 10 points while Alayna Arnole had nine. Lee added four rebounds and two blocks.
AB Holsinger added two points to go with six assists and four steals.

NEXT UP
Gettysburg will host one of the tournament semifinals on Friday. The full tournament schedule will be announced on Monday morning.
