THE SKINNY STORY
After scoring just 27 points in the first half, Gettysburg used a 24-point third quarter to break a five-point game wide open and defeat Stevens 64-46 in the first round of 2025 NCAA Div. III women's basketball championship tournament at Gettysburg.
THE LEADERS

Reagan Chrencik (New Hope, Pa./New Hope-Solebury) led the Bullets with 11 points, eight rebounds and three steals.

Kimberly Hopkins (Baldwin, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) also reached double figures on a balanced scoring night, contributing 10 points.
FOR THE FOES
• Olivia Schubiger led the Ducks with 22 points and four steals.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Stevens scored the game's first six points and led 8-2 with 6:18 to play in the opening quarter when Olivia Schubiger hit the first of her seven first-half baskets without missing. Gettysburg, however, got a driving layup from
Alayna Arnolie (Vienna, Va./James Madison) with 5:50 on the clock to spark an 8-0 run and take the first lead of the game with 2:14 showing. Four different Bullets scored in the stretch. The teams traded baskets in the final 80 second for a 12-10 Gettysburg lead after one.
• After Schubiger tied the game with 9:10 to play in the second quarter,
AB Holsinger (Charlottesville, Va./Langley) hit a step-back 3-pointer to give the hosts the lead for good. The teams basically traded points the rest of the period with the Bullets leading by seven just once on a
Skylar Reale (Warren, N.J./Morristown Beard) second-chance layup with 1:42 to play.
• Leading 27-22 at the intermission, Holsinger canned her second triple of the game on the opening possession of the second half to start a 24-12 run throughout the third quarter. After Dorothy Loffredo made it 30-24, Arnolie responded to start a 9-3 mini-run. The Ducks clawed back within 41-32 but an Arnolie trey started a run of 12 straights that made it a 19-point game. Audrey Kehoe snapped the streak in the waning seconds of the period.
• Shubiger hit her first shot of the second half 21 seconds into the fourth quarter before
Shinya Lee (Rochester, N.Y./Holderness Prep School) scored in transition to start another run of eight straight points over just 2:16 for the largest lead of the game at 23.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg hosted an NCAA tournament game for the first time since 2022 – the last time the Bullets were victorious in the opening round.
• The Bullets matched the program record for wins in a season with 26.
• Seven different Gettysburg players scored six or more points in the victory.
