THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked fourth in the latest IWLCA Div. III coaches' poll, went on a 5-1 run in the third quarter to open up a 10-6 lead on No. 19 Haverford, ultimately claiming a 13-10 victory in the semifinal of the 2025 Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse semifinal.
THE LEADERS

Julia Daly (McLean, Va./Langley) led the Bullets with six points on two goals and four assists.

Emily Crane (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) added three goals but chipped in a game-high nine draw controls and three ground balls.

THE REST OF THE STORY

Julia Daly went to work early, finding a cutting
Sophie Smith (Great Falls, Va./Langley) just 5:29 into the game for a 1-0 lead. Brooke Epstein responded in kind nearly 90 seconds later, finishing a pass from Tiffany Mikulis to tie the game. Sophie Jaffe then found Ellie Hughes over the top for a 2-1 lead for the visitors with 4:14 to play in the opening period.
Michaela Kelly (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) drew Gettysburg even once again with 48 ticks remaining in the first.
• Bella Gattuso converted an eight-meter shot just 40 seconds into the second quarter for a 3-2 edge but
Emily Crane drove to goal and scored to retie the game at 3-all midway through the period. Daly then found
Grace Battle (Lynchburg, Va./Virginia Episcopal School) in front to give the hosts a 4-3 lead nearly two minutes later. Another Epstein tally drew the game level for the fourth time before
Lauren O'Connell (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) found the back of the net with 1:32 showing for a 5-4 halftime lead.
• After Kylie McNamara tied the game at 5-all with 12:53 on the third-quarter clock, O'Connell scored her second on a pass from Daly that gave the Bullets the lead for good with 11:31 to play in the period. Daly then did the work herself and gave Gettysburg its first two-goal lead just over a minute later. An Epstein advantage goal cut the margin to one midway through the quarter but Crane scored in transition to start a 3-0 run over a four-minute stretch.
Dillon Troy (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) cleared the ball and found Smith with 2:23 remaining before Battle made it 10-6 with 1:46 showing. McNamara and Mikulis each scored for the Fords in the final 24 seconds of the quarter to cut the deficit to two after three quarters.
• A Crane free-position marker pushed the lead back to 11-8 with 9:21 to play before Bella Gattuso responded 1 minute, 24 seconds later. Daly and McNamara then traded solo runs just over two minutes apart to make it a 12-10 game with 3:15 remaining before Smith iced the game off a pass from Daly a minute later.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg improved to 23-0 all-time in CC semifinal games and advanced to the title game for the 23rd time in 23 championship games.
• The Bullets finished with a 38-23 advantage in shots and 16-10 edge in draw controls.
NEXT UP
Gettysburg will face top-seeded Franklin & Marshall, which defeated fourth-seeded Muhlenberg 21-11 in the night's other semifinal, in Saturday's championship game in Lancaster. Game time is 7 p.m.
