THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg forced 12 first-quarter turnovers, building a 14-2 lead just over seven minutes into the game en route to a 61-49 win at Swarthmore.

THE LEADERS
Kimberly Hopkins (Baldwin, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) led a balanced attack for the Bullets, scoring 11 points to go with three steals and an assist.
Skylar Reale (Warren, N.J./Morristown Beard) added nine points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals.

FOR THE FOES

THE REST OF THE STORY
• After Raven Richardson hit a jumper to get Swarthmore on the board first just 22 seconds into the game, the hosts did not score for another 7 minutes, 9 seconds. Skylar Reale hit the first of two free throws with 8:22 showing to start a 14-0 Gettysburg run. During the stretch, the Bullets went 6-for-11 from the floor but limited the Garnet to just three field goal attempts and forced nine turnovers. Olivia Jones (Alexandria, Va./West Potomac) hit a triple and layup off a turnover to make it a 10-point game with 4:15 to play. A Sarah Bertolette (Farmington, Conn./Farmington) putback extended the lead to 14-2 before Kaylah Jacques drained a 3-pointer to snap the scoreless drought for Swarthmore with 2:29 showing. Bertolette responded with another layup before Catherine Chadwell beat the first-quarter buzzer to make it 16-7.
• A pair of Chadwell 3-pointers around a Bertolette jumper closed the deficit to 18-13 in the first 87 seconds of the second quarter. The Garnet got to within three before three straight Briana Robles (Westchester, N.Y./Poly Prep) layups, including two directly off steals – the last of which was a three-point play – in just 29 seconds quickly pushed the lead back to 30-20 with 4:14 on the clock. Gettysburg extended the lead to 14 twice before Chadwell once again beat the quarter buzzer to make it a 38-26 game at halftime.
• The third-quarter margin remained between nine and 12 points until Reagan Chrencik (New Hope, Pa./New Hope-Solebury) hit two free throws to extend the lead to 45-32 with 4:55 remaining. Two Reale charity tosses two minutes later extended the advantage to 15 before two Chadwell free throws and a Lily Czub jumper in the waning seconds made it 47-36 entering the final period.
• Swarthmore extended the run to eight straight with the first four tallies of the fourth quarter to close to within seven with 8:44 to play. A Kimberly Hopkins (Baldwin, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) jumper with 7:37 started a 6-0 burst over just 2:22, extending the lead to 53-40. The Garnet had one final run, closing to within nine with 3:30 to play but a pair of Hopkins jumpers and Chrencik layup made it a 61-46 game with 63 seconds left.
