THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg had seven wrestlers finish in the top eight of their weight class, including a third-place finish at 157, to place tied for eighth at the 2026 NCAA Div. III Region III championship. The Bullets scored 80 points at the 21-team regional.
THE LEADERS

Gavin Pascoe (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) led the Bullets with a third-place finish to advance to the national championship for the second straight year. Pascoe had an opening round 10-3 win over Alvernia's Ian Vitalo before recording a pair of major decisions, downing Johns Hopkins' Giorgio DiFalco 15-3 and King's Martin Turi 17-4 to advance to the semifinal. Braden Kmak edged Pascoe 6-5 to advance to the title bout. Pascoe then recorded a 14-4 win in the consolation semifinals before taking down Noah Rice (Messiah) 15-3 to place third and earn the final qualifier in the bracket.

THE REST OF THE STORY

Jake Mitchell (Enola, Pa./Cumberland Valley) finished sixth at 149. After an opening-round bye, Mitchell pinned Eastern's Trokon Kai midway through the second period and then won his quarterfinal bout 5-1 over Arcadia's Caden Frost. Chance Babb edged Mitchell 8-5 in sudden victory in the semifinals before he dropped an 11-3 major to third-place finisher Jason Giordano and then fell 6-4 in the fifth-place match.

Torey Falkinburg (Brielle, N.J./Manasquan) finished seventh at 133. He won his first bout of the weekend 10-0 before dropping a 7-3 decision in the second round. Falkinburg then won his first two matches in the consolation bracket by match termination. He had a 15-0 technical fall early in the third period before getting a pin at the end of the first period. After dropping a 13-1 major decision, he won the seventh-place match 11-3 over Johns Hopkins' Duncan Stadler.

Brendan Callahan (Woolrich Twp., N.J./Kingsway Regional) made it back-to-back seventh-place finishes. He had a bye in the opening round at 141 before recording a 16-0 technical fall in the second round. After falling to the consolation bracket by 10-2 major decision, he recorded an 8-0 major. Quinn Tobin (Alvernia) downed Callahan 6-3 before Callahan won the seventh-place bout, 9-1.

Justin Richey (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) rounded out the trio of seventh-place finishers. He had a first-round bye at 174 before defeating William Knapp (Alvernia), 12-5. Ty Finn (NYU), who finished second, had a first-period technical fall to send Richey to the consolation bracket. Richey recorded 2-minute, 23-second pin but then was pinned by Albright's Davis Keppley. In the seventh-place bout, Richey won 1-0.

Joseph Dietz (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial) and
Simon Taylor (Alexandria, Va./Woodbury Forest School) both finished eighth. At 184, Dietz recorded a pair of wins in the consolation bracket, winning 7-2 and earning a medical forfeit. Taylor won by forfeit in the second round at heavyweight before nabbing a 7-2 win in the consolation bracket.
