Gettysburg drops to Swarthmore 7-0 in Centennial Conference opener.
THE LEADERS
- Arina Zheliaskova (Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation, Gymnasium 540) and Gabby Mazzeo (Bethel, Conn., Bethel) led the Bullets at first doubles forcing the tiebreaker however the Garnet ultimately took the win 7-5 in the tiebreaking set.
FOR THE FOES
- Uma Pogrebivsky led the Garnet at No. 5 singles and in combination with Veronica Komorek at third doubles with perfect 6-0 wins for the day.
THE REST OF THE STORY
- Both Mazzeo and Zheliaskova earned five game wins on the day at first and second singles before falling with the same score of 6-1, 6-4.
- Claire Carroccio (Newtown Square, Pa., Villa Maria Academy) had two game wins at No. 6 singles before falling 6-2, 6-0.
