LANCASTER, Pa. – Ally Kennedy (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East), a sophomore on the Gettysburg women's lacrosse team, has been named Centennial Conference (CC) Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Apr. 20-26.

It is the first time she has earned the weekly honor in her career.

Kennedy helped the defense in a week where the Bullets (12-5, 7-1 CC) posted their first shutout since 2017. In the two wins, she recorded six ground balls, four caused turnovers and eight draw controls. In the 17-0 win at McDaniel, she had two ground balls and two caused turnovers before picking up four ground balls to go with seven draw controls and two caused turnovers at Washington on Saturday.

For the season, she leads the team with 21 caused turnovers and 31 ground balls. She has also contributed one goal and one assist, offensively, to go with 24 draw controls.

Gettysburg returns to action at Franklin & Marshall in the semifinals of the Centennial Conference tournament on Friday. Game time is 4 p.m.
