Gettysburg opened the fall season at the Goucher Invitational.
THE LEADERS

Spencer Pompian (Clayton, Mo./Clayton) won the Singles C Flight. He was one of four Bullet players to win their singles flights.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• In the Singles A Flight,
Owen Kutlu (Mendham, N.J./West Morris Mendham) and
Teo Burgess (Rockville, Md./Wheaton) both won their opening match by 8-2 scores before falling in the bracket semifinals.

Ben O'Connor-Skloot (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y./Dobbs Ferry) won the Singles B Flight. He opened his day with wins by scores of 8-2 and 8-1 before winning the final match by default.

Spencer Pompian defeated his own teammate
Malek Mustafa (Raleigh, N.C./Ravenscroft School) in the finals of the Singles C Flight, 8-6. Pompian won both of his first two matches 8-1 while Mustafa won the opening match 8-1 and his semifinal match, 8-4.

Jonah Lotstein (Stamford, Conn./Stamford) made his singles debut in the Singles D Flight, winning all three of his matches by identical 8-2 scores.

Rex Bondi (Arlington, Va./Landon School) and
Matt Porreca (Blue Bell, Pa./La Salle College) both advanced to the final match of the Singles E Flight. Bondi topped Dickinson's Dylan Steinberg 8-7 (8-6) and Penn State-Harrisburg's Astivik Kanithi, 8-0. Porreca won both of his first two matches, 8-1. Bondi then won by default over Porreca.
• In doubles competition, Burgess and Kutlu won the A Flight by default over teammates Porreca and Pompian. Burgess and Kutlu recorded a pair of 6-4 wins while Porreca and Pompian won their two matches 6-0 and 6-2.
• O'Connor-Skloot and Mustafa defeated Bondi and Lotstein 7-6 (8-6) in the finals of the B Flight. O'Connor-Skloot and Mustafa advanced to the final match with wins of 6-3 and 6-4. Bondi and Lotstein got there by recording a pair of 6-3 wins.
