Biography

2017: Appeared in all 17 games of the 2017 season at midfield…Made his lone start of the year at Franklin & Marshall where he tallied an assist…Finished the season with 14 ground balls, 4 caused turnovers, and 2 assists.

2016: Appeared in all 19 games as a starting defensive midfielder…Scooped 15 ground balls and caused six turnovers… Played in both of the team’s Centennial Conference tournament games and all four of the team’s NCAA Division III tournament games.

2015: Receiving significant playing time during his freshman campaign, appearing in 19 games, including all six postseason contests…Finished with 15 ground balls and four caused turnovers…Picked up a season-high four ground balls in a win at Messiah.

High School: Competed in soccer and lacrosse at Avon Old Farms…Was a soccer forward under head coach Roger Cantello and a lacrosse midfielder for head coach Skip Flanagan…Also played hockey for one season as a defenseman for head coach John Riley.

Family Connections: Brother, Jack Runkel, was a lacrosse goalie at the Loyola University and currently plays for the Boston Cannons of the MLL.
