A Championship Experience. A Consequential Education.
At Gettysburg College, we provide our students with A Consequential Education.

A Consequential Education is one that guides students to gain greater insight into themselves, their passions, and their aspirations to leave the world better than they found it.

From our unique sense of place that grounds us in the enduring charge of President Abraham Lincoln, to our hardworking students, faculty, and staff who are innately inspired to Do Great Work, and our experiential approach to learning, we believe in the lasting impact of a Gettysburg College education. It is in each member of our community that A Consequential Education shines every day—in their hearts and through the great work they do—from Gettysburg onward.

ATHLETIC SUCCESS

Since women’s lacrosse captured the department’s first NCAA Division III national title in 2011, more than two-thirds of the Bullets’ teams have been represented in the national championship field. Amidst those national playoff appearances are more than a dozen top-16 finishes.

Competing in the prestigious Centennial Conference, Gettysburg is one of just two institutions to offer all 24 championship sports sponsored by the conference. Gettysburg was the first school to win 100 Centennial titles and it remains only one of two to cross the century mark. A half-dozen Bullet teams have won double-digit titles since the inception of the conference in 1993-94. Individually, multiple Gettysburg student-athletes are annually honored with the top award in their respective sports and numerous Bullets garner All-America accolades each season.

ACADEMIC SUCCESS

Not only do our student-athletes achieve great heights competitively, but they do it while finding equal success in the classroom.

Each year approximately one-third of our student-athletes are honored as part of the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll, which recognizes sophomores, juniors, and seniors with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.4 or higher. Additionally, one-third of our all-conference selections earn the distinction of Academic All-Centennial, highlighting both on-field and classroom accomplishments.

On the national level, more than two dozen student-athletes have achieved Academic All-America status over the last two decades and 10 Bullets have been awarded prestigious NCAA postgraduate scholarships in that same time frame. In 2022, Gettysburg joined Chi Alpha Sigma, the first national scholar-athlete society, as the Pennsylvania Alpha Upsilon Chapter.

WELL-BEING & BALANCE

The Student-Athlete Well-Being program is Gettysburg College's commitment to engage our student-athletes in leading a life of well-being. Through coaching, mentoring, and a network of campus partners, we provide a welcoming environment for our athletes to reach their fullest potential both in and out of the classroom. We strive to create a competitive environment where all voices are heard and where each individual is treated with respect and dignity.

Student-athletes can find a welcoming and open community full of opportunities for personal growth away from the athletic fields. Members of all of our athletic programs accrue hundreds of hours of community service locally and through national non-profit organizations such as the Kay Yow Foundation, Universal Promise, and The HEADstrong Foundation. Many student-athletes also belong to various clubs, Greek societies, and organizations across campus with some holding leadership positions. All of our coaches encourage and support student-athletes to go out and make a difference in the world around them.
