Cooper Ayres enters his first season as an assistant coach at Gettysburg. Ayres will assist the development of the Bullets outfielders.
Ayres has coached locally since graduating from Saint Vincent College with a degree in criminal justice in 2016. He currently serves as a coach with the Evoshield Canes, a showcase baseball team to help young players connect with college coaches. Ayres coaches the Gettysburg senior legion team and serves as an assistant jayvee coach at Gettysburg High School. From Sept. 2017 to Jan. 2018, he volunteered with the baseball team at his high school alma mater, Delone Catholic.
Ayres played two years of baseball at Hagerstown Community College and one year at Saint Vincent. He doubled as a pitcher and infielder/outfielder at HCC, while pitching in seven games with the Bearcats in 2015.
