Grant Shives enters his second season with the Bullets baseball coaching staff in 2021.
Gettysburg off to a roaring start in Shives’ first year on the bench, hitting .430 as a team through eight games. The pitching staff was 6-2 with a shutout in 60 innings of work.

Shives was a pitcher at the University of the Pacific and Williamette University, appearing in a total of eight games before sustaining a career-ending injury as a sophomore. He transferred to The Ohio State University where he completed a degree in political science in 2019.

Prior to college, Shives was a standout for Francis W. Parker High School in San Diego, Calif. Over 39 appearances on the mound, he went 20-3 and registered an ERA under 1.25 in each of his final two seasons of high school. He was twice named all-league and earned all-state accolades after going 10-2 as a senior.
