Bob Campbell returns for his ninth season on the Gettysburg staff in 2008. He works primarily with the Bullet receivers.
A native of Vestal, N.Y., Campbell was a three-year letterwinner at Penn State University and played on the 1968 Nittany Lion squad that went 11-0 and finished No. 2 in the nation.
After graduating from Penn State in 1970, he earned his master's degree from SUNY Cortland in 1972 and began his teaching and coaching career in Cicero, N.Y., as the head football coach. He took over as the head coach at Christian Brothers Academy in 1979 and assumed head coaching duties at Frederick High School in 1986. He retired from that role in 1996, but will enter his 37th year of teaching in 2008.
