Charles Alexander, a 2002 graduate of Ohio State University, will enter his third season on the Bullet coaching staff in 2010 and will serve as a defensive backs coach.
Alexander comes to Gettysburg from Villanova University, where he was the assistant defensive line coach in 2007. He also worked as the running backs and tight ends coach from 2005-06 at Clarion University, where he coached a tight end that earned all-conference and all-region honors. In addition, he spent the 2004 season as the wide receivers and outside linebackers coach at Newark (Ohio) H.S. and he was the defensive coordinator at Wilson Middle School in 2002.
As an undergrad, Alexander spent two years at Butler University, where he was a member of the Bulldog football team as a tight end before transferring to Ohio State, where he earned a degree in education. He picked up a master’s degree, also in education, from Clarion in 2006.
Alexander was a four-sport athlete in high school, playing football, baseball, basketball, and volleyball at Newark (Ohio) H.S., where he graduated in 1997.
Alexander is a member of both the American Football Coaches Association and the Black Coaches Association.
