Cliff Wilson enters his second season as an assistant coach at Gettysburg College in 2017. Wilson will oversee the defensive line this fall.
Wilson comes in with years of coaching experience from multiple colleges, high schools, and academies from all over the country. He comes to Gettysburg after previously serving three years as a defensive line coach and equipment manager at Division II Lincoln University in Oxford, Pa. Wilson’s collegiate resume also includes a three-year stint as wide receivers coach at Ursinus College from 2005 to 2008 where he coached three players to All-Centennial Conference accolades. Following his time at Ursinus, he travelled to the West Coast where he worked at Santa Monica College and Los Angeles Southwest College.
Wilson has spent time coaching in the high schools ranks as well, first at Upper Moreland School District in Willow Grove, Pa., and then at School District of Springfield Township in Oreland, Pa. From 2011-13, he was as assistant football coach at W.T. Woodson High School in Fairfax, Va. He coached a pair of all-region defensive lineman at W.T. Woodson.
Wilson played football at Temple University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sport and recreation management. He also owns an associate’s degree in criminal justice from LA Southwest College and he is working on a master’s in health, physical education, and recreation from Emporia State University.
