Damian Poalucci enters his third season as an assistant coach at Gettysburg College. Poalucci will oversee the Bullets linebacker corps this fall.
 
Prior to Gettysburg, Poalucci spent 19 years as part of the coaching staff at South Western High School in nearby Hanover, Pa. He served as the varsity offensive coordinator and coached both quarterbacks and outside linebackers from1998-2011 before being elevated to head coach prior to the 2012 campaign. During his 14 years as an assistant, Poalucci was part of five Division I championship teams, including the 2006 team that finished as the District 3 Class 3-A runner-up. In five seasons at South Western’s helm, Poalucci posted a 25-27 overall record and led the squad to the District 3 playoffs twice.
 
Poalucci, who teaches health and physical education at South Western, was a standout player at East Stroudsburg University. He was a three-year starter at quarterback and finished his career holding 46 school and national records. In 1996, Poalucci was named Associated Press Little All-America Third Team after throwing for 3,831 yards and 40 touchdowns. He was third in voting for the Harlon Hill Award, which recognizes the top player in Division II.
 
He received a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education from East Stroudsburg in 1998. Poalucci attained his master’s in exercise science and physical education from McDaniel College in 2002.
