Alencar joins Gettysburg football staff for the 2024 season as an assistant coach, bringing a decade of experience in coaching and playing football. Her background encompasses a range of roles and achievements in the sport.
Before moving to the United States, Alencar built an extensive coaching career in Brazil. She contributed significantly as an offensive assistant coach with the Rio Preto Weilers, focusing on quarterbacks and the passing game. She also served as head coach for the Women’s Flag Football team. Her work was instrumental in the team’s success, including three state championships and a national title. Additionally, she has experience as a quarterbacks coach for the Men’s National Team and was selected for the inaugural class of the Buccaneers National Coaching Academy in 2024, with a subsequent invitation as a Bill Walsh Fellow.
In addition to her coaching roles, Alencar has a notable playing career. Over 10 years, she has competed as a quarterback, achieving state and national championships and receiving Team MVP honors with the Curitiba Silverhawks. She has also represented Brazil in international flag football competitions as a quarterback and was the second quarterback overall in passing yards during the regular season of the '24 Flag Football World Championship in Finland.
Alencar holds a degree in physical education from Universidade Federal do Paraná in 2019 and has a teaching and scientific research background.
